16-Year-Old Killed After Crashing Pickup Into Tree, CT State Police Say

Middlesex County resident Connor Young, age 16, of East Haddam, was killed around 7:50 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, on Mott Road, said the Connecticut State Police.

Young was headed west near the East Haddam Turnpike when for an unknown reason the pickup veered left crossing the eastbound travel lane, state police said.

The truck then left the road and struck a tree located along the left side of the roadway. The pickup ended up in the road, facing south. 

Troopers say Young was the only person in the truck.

He was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation remains active pending further investigation.
